Luxurious Fall Skincare Routine with Lavelier

November 2, 2018 in Beauty, Skin Care - No Comments

The Marine Essential Collection by Lavelier was sent to me for my consideration. I added it to my skincare routine for the last 4 weeks. I did not receive the entire collection, but will be reviewing the products that I did receive. All opinions are my own.

My skincare routine is something that I change quite often, mainly so that my skin doesn’t get “used to” specific products. Cold temperatures and harsh winds can affect the quality of your skin, so during the Fall and Winter months, I love changing up my skincare to thick and rich products, that help to protect my skin. When I read up on Lavelier and their Marine Essentials Collection, I was really excited and knew that I wanted to try it. Since I’m pushing 30, I’m all about quality anti-aging products.

IMG_6968 (1) I didn’t receive the entire line (though I definitely want to try their Fine Line Eye Serum and their Nourishing Night Serum + Vitamin C), but the products I did receive I absolutely love.

Why is a skincare routine important?

Our skin is the largest organ on our bodies, and it’s so important to keep it healthy so that our body can fight infection. Not only that, but with great skin comes a great makeup application. Makeup can really only do so much and go so far, if it’s being applied to skin that is well taken care of, it’s going to look better!

Biology Mousse Cleanser

IMG_7004I’ve been using the Biology Mousse Cleanser 2x a day, it lives in my shower, and I’m really loving it. It’s thick and rich, but it has a tiny bit of grit to it. It’s really great at removing my makeup and any impurities from my skin. It leaves it feeling clean, but also smooth and soft! Even with the thick formula, it doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy–definite plus! I’m enjoying this cleanser so much. I don’t think that I’ve ever used a cleanser so rich, that leaves my skin feeling moisturized after use.

Intensive Facial Peel

IMG_7025It’s been a long time since I’ve used any kind of peel on my skin, because I am always afraid that they will be too harsh. This Intensive Facial Peel was surprisingly gentle, it didn’t irritate my skin while using it. And while there was a tiny bit of redness immediately following use (I think it had more to do with “vigorously massaging” it into my skin, per the directions), it went away quickly. It contains Nut Shell Powder, which doesn’t really add grit to the product, but promotes healthy cell growth. Helping your skin from the inside out. It’s also infused with Coral Seaweed, which helps leave your skin looking brighter and feeling tighter. It left my skin feeling squeaky clean, which is my favorite. I’ve also noticed a difference in the texture of my skin as well. I’ve been using it 1-2x a week for the last 3 weeks.

Marine Deep Moisturizer

IMG_7026The Marine Deep Moisturizer is formulated for all skin types, and infused with Green Tea Extract and Retinyl Palmitate which helps to soothe dry rough skin and fight fine lines and fatigue. While it is a lush and rich cream, it’s very lightweight and goes on the skin so smoothly. It’s perfect for everyday, and goes great underneath makeup. This moisturizer is a great find for the effects that the cold weather can have on the skin, as well as those who have dry skin all year round. It is packed with antioxidants and nutrients that are beneficial for overall skin health.

Marine Evening Repair Cream

IMG_7005 I am a huge fan of really thick and rich night creams, because I feel like it soaks into your skin all night. This Marine Evening Repair Cream doesn’t disappoint. It’s been infused with the Shea Butter and Coral Seaweed extract, this evening repair cream helps to firm and plump skin while retaining the skin’s moisture levels, allowing you to wake up to luminous, beautiful skin. I always feel super luxurious at night when I am putting this on.

*Quick Tip for All Moisturizers*- Be sure to apply product not only to face, but to your neck and décolletage as well.

Eye Firming Concentrate

IMG_7015 (1) The Eye Firming Concentrate is infused not only with marine botanicals, but encapsulated caffeine as well. Caffeine is great for the under eye area since it helps eyes to look more rested, relaxed, and awake. (Something that I definitely need). This concentrate is lightweight and is great for the sensitive skin underneath your eyes. I love it because it doesn’t feel heavy, and blends in to the under eye area really well. Always make sure that you have an eye cream in your skincare routine, I feel like the skin under our eyes is always looked over–and it needs the most love!

Advanced Marine Bio-Syringe

IMG_7001 This one was a little intimidating when I first saw it, I mean… it’s a syringe. But, the packaging is seriously brilliant. The Advanced Marine Bio-Syringe delivers targeted anti-aging ingredients straight to your areas of most concern. It is formulated with Hyaluronic Acid (anti-aging holy grail ingredient), and DMAE. Both of these ingredients together help to decrease the appearance of expression lines and leaves the skin looking more youthful. A little bit of product goes a long way, and my face feels immediately tighter after applying it. I’ve been using it on my forehead and my smile lines a few times a week.

Overall, I love all of these products. My favorites are the Biology Mousse Cleanser, Eye Firming Concentrate, and the Marine Evening Repair Cream. They have changed the appearance and feel of my skin for the better, and I am so happy to have added them to me skincare routine.

  • Another fun Sunday afternoon at Board and Brush Nashville. I had so been looking forward to this day with two of my closest friends. It was such a good time catching up with them and working on these projects that I didn’t really care to take the “perfect” pictures. I just snapped a few and enjoyed my day with them.
How was your weekend?

This is a yearly event that they put on for all of the families and it’s amazing! Lots of rides, prizes, food, and fun treats. We had a blast. ⠀

I was almost hoping that 1. We could talk him out of it, or 2. My husband would be too tall to ride it with him. I was so nervous about how he would react. ⠀
What if he tried to get down?⠀
What if he was so scared and I wasn’t up there with him?⠀

But, I learned a lesson today. ⠀
I have to learn to trust my boy. He *knew* he wanted to ride it, and he loved it! ⠀

  • Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay. I didn’t always openly share about my struggles over the years with my own mental health. I always steered the conversation towards how important it was for anyone struggling to reach out, ask for help, share their story, whatever they felt comfortable doing. Ending the Stigma.⠀
⠀
But me? Oh no, I was to embarrassed to admit that I was also struggling. ⠀
⠀
I never really noticed a change in my mental health until *after* I became a mother. Post-Partum (and situational—my husband and I were just in a bad place financially, in our marriage, etc) Depression really got the best of me after I gave birth to my son. I slept all the time, picked stupid fights with my husband, and at times just genuinely didn’t want to be alive. Thought that I was a horrible mother. Thankfully after struggling for what felt like forever, those feelings went away. ⠀
⠀
Going into my second pregnancy and remembering just how badly that PPD had gotten, spiraled me into a new feeling—anxiety. And that feeling hasn’t really gone away. ⠀
⠀
I have really really great days, more good than bad and I am so grateful for that. But there are days where I feel my overwhelm and anxiety physically crushing me. Being able to speak up about it, communicate my needs to my partner, *and* find support and solace in wonderful women who are going through the same has been my saving grace. ⠀
⠀
Sure, Instagram is often filled with really beautiful curated images—and don’t mistake my words here, I love and enjoy scrolling these beautiful feeds; but it’s also important to remember that it isn’t always beautiful and well planned all of the time. There are real people behind these beautiful photos. ⠀
⠀
Life can also be messy. Embrace the mess. ⠀

  • Do you have a house full of snackers? #AD Whether you have a toddler or a preschooler @beechnutfoods Toddler Snacks (their Fruity Oat Bars specifically) are some of our favorite Grab N Go snacks! They contain only 5 *REAL* Ingredients and no artificial preservatives (Whole Grain Oats, Raisins, Dates, Sunflower Oil, and Dried Strawberries or Bananas—depending on which you get). The kids absolutely love them, and I feel pretty great giving them these whenever they ask for one.
I also love sneaking Beech-Nut® Naturals purees into their food to make sure they’re getting enough servings of veggies a day too.
What are your kid’s favorite snacks? •
