How to Get Your Children to Eat More Vegetables with Beech-Nut® Naturals™

Over the years, I’ve talked a lot about how important it is for me to help my children establish healthy relationships with food. This includes trying all sorts of foods–different textures and flavors, learning to enjoy treats in moderation, and remembering that our food is meant to fuel our bodies. Truly, I’ve lucked out with kids who enjoy most foods, and will try anything once. But we’re not perfect, and sometimes they will just downright refuse to eat any veggies. After some trial and error, I wanted to share one of my favorite (and probably easiest) way sneak vegetables into your children’s favorite foods!
After having much success shredding veggies into foods, I wanted to try something that I thought would be even easier (definitely a lot less work)—using purées! Instead of having to shred tons of zucchini or carrots into meatballs or sauces, I can just toss in a jar of Beech-Nut® Naturals™.

One of the reasons that I chose Beech-Nut® Naturals™ is because they are made with 100% All-Natural Ingredients. There’s literally no artificial… anything! I hate when food has a lot of filler ingredients that end up making it a little less fresh and a lot more processed.

This day, I was making one of their favorites for a quick dinner—Macaroni and Cheese! I decided to add an entire jar of Beech-Nut® Naturals™ Just Carrot, Corn & Pumpkin to the finished pasta.

You can really do this with any sauce-based pasta; spaghetti, alfredo, pesto, etc. just to add some vegetables to a dish that otherwise either didn’t have any or had very little! Also, I’m picturing adding it to marinara sauce for pizzas and meatball subs.

Seriously, your imagination is the limit here.

The Macaroni and Cheese was a hit, and it tasted like I didn’t even add veggies to it.

I wanted to share one really fun way that I use the fruit purees as well. This is such a great way to cool down during the summer, and also helps with sore and swollen teething gums! I know y’all have seen a few people do this, but I love making Ice Pops with the Beech-Nut® Naturals™ fruit purees.

For these, I used the Beech-Nut® Naturals™ Bananas, and combined it with some chopped banana pieces. Also, I used Beech-Nut® Naturals™ Apple, Cinnamon & Granola and layered it with some plain greek yogurt. Your kids will love these! Use their favorite flavors and add fun things like real fruit pieces, yogurt, oats, etc.
