This steak marinated for a few hours and then got

This steak marinated for a few hours and then got a good sear in the hot cast iron, a healthy schmear of butter with fresh garlic, thyme, and rosemary mixed in...and cooked to perfection. Paired with some lemon and parmesan roasted asparagus and baked potatoes.

Don’t mind my husband’s plain ass potato, that’s the way he likes them. Meanwhile, mine was loaded with yogurt butter, Fage as “sour cream”, cheese, bacon, and chives.

The perfect ending to a long weekend...🥩🥔

Happy Friday, y’all! Welcome to another month of #FamilyFriendlyFriday, where I team up with my friend Lynneah, @twinsandcoffeepnw to share some recipes we create after receiving ideas from you!⠀

This month we’re doing one of my family’s favorites-BREAKFAST! ⠀
⠀
I can’t tell you how many times my kids ask me to make Breakfast For Dinner during the week, because it’s a lot. I try and create some fun variations to mix things up as often as I can. ⠀
⠀
Initially, I was going to go a different route for this recipe, but I didn’t like how it turned out if we’re being honest.⠀
⠀
Grayson made these Blueberry Preserves at school and I didn’t want them to go to waste, so I had been brainstorming how to use them. I think it came together really nicely. ⠀
⠀
This Blueberry Pull-Apart Bread with Cream Cheese Icing is a fun addition to any breakfast, whether it’s saved for special occasions or for a “just because” breakfast, it adds some sweetness to pair perfectly with traditional savory breakfast foods. ⠀

I was honestly so scared to homeschool this year.

I was honestly so scared to homeschool this year. Technically, I didn’t need to...since Grayson will start kindergarten next year because of his birthday. I wanted to though. ⠀
⠀
Because of his hearing loss, I wanted to make sure that he was prepared and had all of the tools needed to adequately learn in a classroom setting—and what better way to learn those tools and become equipped than at home where he’s comfortable? ⠀
⠀
Still, I was terrified. ⠀
⠀
Will I be smart enough to teach him?⠀
Patient enough?⠀
Do *I* myself possess the necessary skills needed to help him succeed at this?⠀
Would we get frustrated with each other every day? ⠀
Would he be able to learn from me? ⠀
⠀
We’ve really gotten into a groove over the last few weeks (we haven’t hit the month mark yet, but we’re close). He learns 3x a week with one of my absolute best friends, who has been homeschooling way longer than I have and has the patience of a freaking saint. Then he does 2x a week at home with me. ⠀
⠀
He’s been retaining a ton information and has been so so eager to learn each day! He’s determined to learn how to read immediately. I catch him trying to read things more than ever now—labels, things he sees on tv, and books. ⠀
⠀
I’ve been enjoying it so much that I am toying with the idea of homeschooling him next year—especially if the current climate remains the same. I *never* thought that I could be a homeschool parent, like ever. But it really seems to be working out for us and for our current routine. ⠀

I plan on sharing—very soon, a few of our favorite learning materials and items I’ve found to help me (and him) through our homeschool day.

You may remember a few months ago we partnered with @loweshomeimprovement to #BuildThanks—and we’re back at it again!

Lowe’s is introducing “Labor for Your Neighbor” and encouraging others to others to spread the love with small acts of kindness for their neighbor’s front porches. (And we could most definitely all spare a little kindness these days).

This time, we went out into the neighborhood and thanked someone personally. We chose a neighbor and surprised with with some simple but cute Fall Items to spice up their porch!⠀
⠀
We are new to the neighborhood this year but decided to choose a neighbor that has been more than kind to us in the months since we moved in. ⠀
⠀
Grayson helped me pick out some beautiful blooming yellow Mums (he loves buying flowers) and a “Give Thanks” hanging sign that actually fits pretty perfectly inside of your traditional door wreath. And the best part? It was all less than $50!

He was so excited to deliver it to their doorstep.

He told me tonight that he had the “BEST BIRTHDAY EVER”! And that’s really all that I could ask for.

This is his first year of school, and it’s been really fun getting to be creative with his lunches while making sure he has nutrient dense options with yummy treats.

In honor of #NationalSmoresDay, I’m sharing a really quick and easy Marshmallow Buttercream recipe on the blog today. I’ve been keeping my pantry fully stocked with everything I need to make S’mores regularly, and have been indulging in them whenever the mood strikes.

I wanted to recreate the flavors of a S’more in a different kind of treat. Enter: S’mores Cupcakes!
I used my favorite chocolate cake recipe (from @livewellbakeoften), piped this homemade marshmallow buttercream on top, and garnished with a graham cracker and a chocolate bar. Seriously so delicious.

The buttercream is light, fluffy, and easy to make. Packed with Marshmallow Creme for that authentic marshmallow flavor.
